Moffitt, a 69-year-old retired framed of 1418 Woodland, died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday at Doctors Hospital after being in failing health for several years. A resident of Butler County since 1925, Mr. Moffitt was born on Mary 20, 1903, near Bigelow, Ark. He was a member of the First Christian Church. On Sept. 25, 1928, he married Leora S. Short who survives. Other survivors include two children, Everett H. Moffitt, Sr. of West Plains, and Mrs. Arliss Arnold of Bowie, Md., six grandchildren and three brothers, Oscar Moffitt, Rube Moffitt and Henry Moffitt, all of Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Roger Guy and the Rev. Dale Black will conduct the services and interment will be in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum.
